However, for large volumes, Hartung Brothers is sufficiently experienced and agile to begin production of other products, and has historically produced beets, cabbage, carrots, green beans, snap beans, lima beans, peas, peppers, sweet corn, wheat and other crops.

From a young age, the Hartung Brothers were taught that if a job is worth doing, it is worth doing right. Our operational divisions are responsible for their own quality control, so in the rare event of a lapse in quality, our people are directly able to identify root causes and adapt to prevent recurrence. Further, this means customers have direct, personal access to persons knowledgeable of both the operation and the customer’s needs.

Agriculture is an inherently unpredictable business, as the whims of climate and weather have a tremendous affect on crop productivity. Hartung Brothers grows on ground it has owned or managed for many years, or partners with local growers knowledgeable of the special considerations required for each crop and acre. In addition, our “dirt to dock” integration means our crops are only managed by one organization before they are available to our customers.

Current Products and Services
Pickling Cucumbers
Hartung Brothers grows, sorts, grades, chills, and ships cucumbers for pickling processors of all sizes. Cucumbers are produced in the American Midwest and the Canadian province of Ontario, and are available to ship throughout the continental United States and Canada. Customers may source cucumbers on a long-term contracted basis and enjoy priority fulfillment, or purchase ad hoc as needed.
Hartung Brothers also stores salt stock cucumbers when pre-brining is required.
Seed Corn Production, Processing, and Distribution
We understand that you can only deliver bad quality once. Hartung Brothers has a long track record being a reliable supplier of high quality seed corn production, processing, bagging and distribution. Our seed research and development operations in Hawaii, enables us to offer end-to-end turn-key services, including: contract R&D service to customer genetics and protocols, foundation seed production, pilot hybrids, and hybrid production, processing, warehousing, and distribution.
